Things to Do Near Newfound Lake, NH
Staying at Eagle Ridge or Big Bear is an experience. Set aside some time to just sit out on the patio and enjoy the sounds of nature. The Audubon Society's protected land is just below us. Bald eagles are regular visitors, along with an incredible variety of birds throughout the year. In the evenings, one of our favorite things is simply sitting outside and listening to the loons calling across Newfound Lake. Sometimes the best thing to do at Newfound Lake is nothing at all.

Relax
The screened in porch is for relaxing, eating meals or taking an afternoon nap on the futon. Plan a night at the fire pit under the moon lit lake listening to the loons. Roast marshmallows under a star filled sky like you have never experienced.
Hike
If you are looking to hike the possibilities are endless for all experience levels! One of the local hot spots is Big Sugarloaf which has a spectacular view of the Lake from the summit and is a short drive.

Unplug
This breathtaking location that our log home is perched on has 180 degree views of mountains and Newfound Lake. This hidden gem also gets you away from the bustle of being right on the lake while still being able to enjoy all it has to offer.
Lake Time
Spring fed Newfound lake is said to be one of the top ten cleanest lakes in the country. Take the opportunity to visit the beach, take a boat ride or try out ice fishing!

Are you looking for that perfect date night? Tour one of the local wineries followed by a romantic dinner at Newfound Lake Inn. Finish the evening by the fire pit reconnecting and looking at the stars.
Family Fun
For a great family day consider spending the afternoon at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center followed by mini golf at Pirate's Cove Mini Golf. End the day with visit to Lee's Candy Kitchen.

On a rainy day consider seeing a play at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse followed by dinner at The Common Man then come back to Eagle Ridge or Big Bear and enjoy
hot chocolate by the gas fireplace.

Adventure
For a great New Hampshire adventure, pack a lunch and head to Sculptured Rocks. You can hike the 272 acres and enjoy learning about local plants and animals. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit to take a dip in the local swimming holes.
